Job description
The Role

We are recruiting a Financial Accountant (12 month maternity cover FTC) to deliver quality financial reporting throughout the year, supporting the delivery of the annual financial reporting as well as monthly review cycles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership of key reporting projects, such as impairment reviews and lease accounting
  • Management and support to monthly close and review processes
  • Preparation and review of the Group's consolidated financial statements, including analysis of income statement and balance sheet items
  • Analysis and scrutiny of divisional financial submissions
  • Preparation of subsidiary accounts and supporting schedules
  • Liaison with auditors and tax advisors
  • Ad-hoc technical projects and analysis
  • Process analysis and improvement
  • Collaboration with and support to peers in finance on reporting processes and projects (e.g., new accounting standards)
Required Experience
  • Accountancy qualification is essential
  • An understanding of the IFRS reporting & UK legislative reporting regime
  • Knowledge of IFRS16 would be advantageous
  • Practical experience in solving technical problems relating to data and to accounting challenges
  • An appetite to improve and upgrade processes and controls
  • Consolidation and multi-entity reporting frameworks
  • Experience of multi-site operations preferred
  • A bias towards collaborative and pragmatic working styles, especially with non-technical and non-finance colleagues
  • An ability to prioritise and adapt effectively
