Finance & Royalties Accountant - Ceremony of Roses

Ceremony of Roses UK & Probity form the UK & European merchandise arm for Sony Music UK and the global Sony Music merchandise group, Ceremony of Roses. This role, along with four other members of the finance team, will service the operations of both companies, contributing to their growth and success. You will work closely with the business to develop an in-depth understanding of the merchandise process across all channels.

We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to assist in preparing & reporting artist royalty statements across all revenue channels (E-commerce, Retail, Licensing & Touring) for UK merchandise companies, Ceremony of Roses & Probity. Building close relationships with the business will help you gain a deep understanding of the performance and operations of these fast-growing companies.

What you'll do:

As the primary contact for UK merchandise artist royalty reporting, you will prepare client-facing royalty statements quarterly and after artist tours. Once approved, you will distribute these statements to clients and follow up for invoicing and payments.

Key responsibilities:
  • Deliver royalty statements to artists according to contractual deadlines
  • Maintain an organized, up-to-date database of royalty statement schedules
  • Review artist contracts for accurate and compliant royalty accounting
  • Perform analytical reviews to identify financial irregularities and resolve issues
  • Coordinate with international affiliate companies to support royalty settlement reporting
  • Respond promptly to ad hoc requests, including provisional royalty statements
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams for efficient royalty reporting
  • Calculate touring profit shares
  • Prepare quarterly retail & licensing statements
  • Prepare quarterly E-commerce statements
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations
Other Responsibilities:
  • Assist with revenue recognition for retail & licensing
  • Liaise with AP & AR teams to handle client requests and monitor ledgers during month-end
  • Support statutory audits
  • Assist with E-Commerce sales & costs month-end tasks
  • Provide admin support and systems management (e.g., B pack, Concur, SAP, cash allocation)

  • Experience with Profit Share, JV Accounting, P&L, and/or royalty accounting
  • Proficiency with SAP, MS Excel, and other MS applications
  • Ability to review processes and suggest improvements
