Job description

We are a rapidly scaling Independent Power Producer (IPP) delivering clean energy projects across Southern Europe, backed by a leading global infrastructure investor. With a newly appointed CEO and a strategic leadership team in place, we are entering our next phase of accelerated growth.

To support our expanding project pipeline and capital deployment strategy, we are hiring a Project Finance Senior Associate to lead critical workstreams related to project-level financing, commercial structuring, and transaction execution across the development lifecycle.

The Role

The Project Finance Senior Associate will sit at the intersection of investment, development, and construction, playing a key role in securing project-level funding, supporting M&A and refinancing activities, and optimising capital structures across a growing renewable energy portfolio. This is a high-exposure role with direct interaction with the board, investment committee, and global infrastructure fund.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and maintain advanced financial models for greenfield and operational renewable energy assets

  • Drive project finance activities including debt structuring, lender engagement, due diligence, and financial close

  • Support capital raising processes, including refinancing, tax equity (if applicable), and equity syndication

  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to support investment decisions and risk assessments

  • Coordinate with legal, technical, and commercial advisors throughout transaction processes

  • Prepare investment committee and board materials to support funding approvals and capital deployment

  • Engage cross-functionally with asset management, construction, and development teams to ensure alignment of project assumptions with commercial reality

  • Track market financing trends and support strategic input into portfolio financing strategy

Candidate Profile
  • 6–9 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, infrastructure advisory, or private equity

  • Strong track record in renewable energy or infrastructure transactions, ideally within IPPs, developers, or funds

  • Deep understanding of project finance structures, debt markets, and financial due diligence

  • Expert-level financial modelling skills in Excel (Power BI, VBA a plus)

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to distill complex financial concepts to senior stakeholders

  • Fluent in English (Italian a plus but not required)

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, growth-stage business
