Job description

SF are excited to be partnering exclusively working exclusively with a well- established local SME retail business based in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire to recruit a Finance Manager into the business. The role will report into the MD and will manage the Accounts Assistant & Accounts Administrator whilst taking responsibility for the finance function.

This role is open to candidates who are qualified by experience or have an accounting degree (AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure correct financial procedures and controls are followed and advise staff where required
  • Oversee the month end process across purchase, sales and general ledger and stock system and reconcile
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation and posting of monthly journals
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack
  • Management of cash/reconciliations, cashflow
  • Responsible for sales analysis reporting
  • Manage the 4 weekly payroll
  • Maintaining employee/HR records, including absence, holidays etc.
  • Authorise weekly purchase ledger BACS and upload into banking website
  • National Statistics (ad hoc)
  • Quarterly VAT return and payment
  • Attend quarterly managers meeting, prepare agenda, financial report and meeting minutes
  • Ad hoc sales, cost analysis as required
  • Provide assistance and support to the MD as and when required for decision making purposes
  • Liaising with HMRC/Companies House/Pension Regulator when required and ensure compliance
  • Administer company pension scheme and upload monthly contribution data
