Finance Manager

Location: Warrington (Office-Based)

Salary: Up to £45,000

We’re looking for a confident, hands‑on Finance Manager to join a growing and well‑invested business in Warrington, someone who can take ownership, support the Financial Controller, and play a key role in strengthening and evolving the finance function.

It isn’t a tick‑the‑box role. It’s ideal for someone who’s technically capable and commercially aware, but also proactive, collaborative, and ready to step up as the Financial Controller’s number two. You’ll be involved in everything from reporting and compliance to systems and strategy, making this a great move for someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting the Financial Controller with the smooth day‑to‑day running of the finance function
• Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Leading on cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting
• Handling VAT returns, tax compliance, and supporting with CIS and reverse VAT
• Driving improvements across processes, reporting, and internal controls
• Playing a key role in new system implementation and future upgrades
• Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to support better financial understanding and decision‑making
• Acting as a sounding board and deputy to the Financial Controller, stepping up when needed

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in a hands‑on finance role (e.g. Finance Manager, Company Accountant, Management Accountant)
• Comfortable owning the month‑end process and preparing management accounts
• Confident working with VAT, tax, and ideally CIS and reverse VAT
• Able to communicate clearly with non‑finance stakeholders and contribute to decision‑making
• A proactive, commercially minded person who’s always looking for better ways of doing things
• Down‑to‑earth, collaborative, and comfortable in a growing, fast‑moving environment
• Qualifications aren’t essential — it’s your experience, attitude, and approach that matter most.
