Finance Manager - £45k - £50k per annum - Full time - Permanent - Greater Exeter

This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional seeking a hands-on role within a dynamic and evolving business. You’ll play a central role in shaping financial strategy, improving efficiency and supporting long-term organisational goals. You will work closely with an experienced Finance Director, who will provide the strategic guidance and support to ensure that you have everything you need to do a great job.

You will be responsible for:

  • Taking full ownership of the organisation’s daily financial managementincluding; the development and monitoring of budgets, the preparation of rolling forecasts and the delivery of timely and accurate financial reports.
  • Ensuring that all financial activities run smoothly, supporting strategic decision-making and reflecting the company’s overall goals and performance targets.
  • Overseeing the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring all invoices, payments, and collections are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with internal controls and financial policies.
  • Developing and implementing effective cost control measures,by analysing spending patterns, identifying inefficiencies and introducing process improvements to enhance overall financial performance and profitability.
  • Providing leadership and day-to-day support to a small finance team, promoting a collaborative, high-performing culture through clear direction, ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities.
  • Working with various departments to gain relevant and accurate data, to enable the provision of suitable actionable recommendations
  • Depending on experience, a small payroll may be included, but this could be outsourced

For this opportunity we’re looking for a career experienced, energetic and dynamic individual who may be part/fully professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), AAT qualified or qualified by experience. Experience in a similar position and team management is essential, as is an excellent aptitude for IT systems and modern accounting principles. Previous experience gained within an agricultural environment would be desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
