A global business in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking an Operational Finance Business Partner to oversee financial reporting and operational integrity on a £40m+ contract. The ideal candidate will be ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with advanced Excel skills and a focus on continuous improvement and procurement processes. This role features a hybrid working model with up to 2 days on-site, along with free parking.

Operational Finance Business Partner | Barrow-in-Furness | £60,000 - £65,000

An opportunity has arisen to join a global business in a highly visible and impactful role. You will oversee the commercial reporting and operational integrity of a £40m+ contract, working closely with SLT and regularly presenting financial performance and working to provide solutions to implement within the business.

Reporting into Group Commercial Finance Manager, you will have a range of duties including;

  • Take ownership of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across multiple contracts and sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial controls, strengthening governance and minimising risk.
  • Oversee efficient and compliant procurement processes, aligned with budgets and business needs.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to operational leaders, supporting delivery of strategic and commercial objectives.
  • Lead on debt management and invoicing, ensuring timely resolution of overdue balances and unbilled work.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to operational teams to build financial and commercial awareness.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, escalating concerns to senior leadership and proposing solutions.
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate finance and procurement staff to achieve high performance.
  • Offer commercial insight and advice on service development, major projects, and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with business unit managers.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and benchmarking data to drive contract performance.
  • Build strong client relationships, advising on financial and commercial improvements that add value.
