This is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking business in a Finance Assistant role. This business have a strong product range and have been and established employer in the local area. As a business they place a large emphasis on continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing, so the role would be well suited to a candidate with a similar mindset. The business provide superb training with a defined plan in place for each position they hire, and would be well suited to a candidate with experience in an finance background.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations investigating and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Managing prepayments, accruals, petty cash and credit cards whilst also preparing monthly journals.
  • Managing sundry invoice generation and processing.
  • Monitoring and processing expense claims in line with company policy.
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Preparing monthly accounts for foreign subsidiaries and reporting on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisers as required.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • High level of IT literacy with working knowledge of an Accounting software, QuickBooks and/or Sage.
  • Excellent accounting knowledge.
  • Confidence in working with high volume of data.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi task and cope with interruptions whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to use own initiative and high level of organisational skills.
  • An eye for detail and a logical approach to problem solving.
