Qualifications

  • Must have GCSEs in Maths and English with a minimum Grade 4/C.
  • Strong analytical skills necessary for effective financial operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is important for daily tasks.

The Role

As a Financial Apprentice you will work within our busy finance team to support daily financial operations gain exposure to manufacturing cost control and understand the financial process. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for numbers and an interest in finance within a fast-paced hands‑on industry.

Key Responsibilities

While not exhaustive you will gain experience in :

  • Enter purchase ledger invoices.
  • Assist in processing purchase and sales invoices.
  • Support with stock and cost accounting entries.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post journals including accruals and prepayments.
  • Help maintain fixed asset registers and support month‑end close activities.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs and assist with variance analysis.
  • Support inventory valuations and standard costing processes.
  • Use ERP and finance systems
  • Liaise with operations and procurement teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Maintain organised financial records and documentation.
  • Complete AAT coursework and attend relevant training sessions.
About you
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 / C or above).
  • Good numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
  • A-Level BTEC or equivalent qualification in Business Finance or Economics.
  • Previous experience (e.g. part-time job internship) in an office or finance setting.
