Field Service Technician - Rail Division

Are you a skilled technician with strong mechanical and electrical expertise? We're working with a well‑established engineering organisation that supports major rail projects across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team where you'll be the face of the company on customer sites, ensuring equipment is maintained, serviced, and repaired to the highest standards.

The Role

As a Field Service Technician, you will:

  • Carry out on‑site maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on rail HVAC equipment
  • Perform electrical testing, rewiring, and component replacement
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures independently, providing clear assessments
  • Undertake brazing, soldering, and mechanical assembly tasks to required standards
  • Deliver professional communication and customer service while representing the organisation on site
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and maintain accurate service documentation
  • Spend your first three months in production to gain full product knowledge before working independently on customer sites
About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience in a field service, rail, or engineering role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including fault finding and component replacement
  • Electrical knowledge, including rewiring, testing, and system repairs
  • Full clean driving licence
  • FGAS qualification and minimum Level 3 electrical/mechanical qualification
  • Experience with rail HVAC systems, chiller units, or compressors
  • Previous rail industry experience
  • HVAC product knowledge
