Job description
Overview

Astute's Renewables team is exclusively with a business who provide a variety of services to the UK's energy storage / battery storage / BESS market. They invest in, manage, develop and originate battery storage projects and we're looking to add some Field Service Engineers to their team to start adding to their O&M Team as well.

The Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £55,000, depending on experience, with real potential for personal and professional growth. The business operate internationally too, so there may be future scope for international work.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Reporting to the O&M Manager you will:
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of battery storage assets
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, conduct warranty repairs and commissioning works too
  • Perform firmware and software system upgrades
  • Provide diagnostic and technical phone support to clients and customers if and when required
  • Conduct risk assessments and look to implement any necessary safety measures
  • Where applicable, assist the in-house development team with hands on knowledge and advice through the development phases of projects
  • Inspect equipment and carry out regular capacity tests
  • Log all activity on internal system
  • Travel nationwide for business need, staying overnight where necessary. The intention is to be as patch-based as possible but there needs to be an awareness that there could be nationwide travel.
  • Other duties as required
Professional qualifications
  • At least a level 3 electrical installation qualification
  • ECS gold card is hugely preferable
  • 18th edition wiring regulations
  • HVAP is desired and the financials would be adjusted accordingly
  • Clean UK driving licence
  • Experience in O&M in large scale renewables, ideally battery storage but I\'m open to solar, wind and other renewables
