Service Engineer (Field/Mobile Mechanic/Vehicle Technician) – Burton Upon Trent

Contract options: Monday to Friday, 40 or 45 hour contracts available

Starting salary: £31,000 - £39,000 (dependent on contract chosen)

Role in brief

Service Engineer (Field) role in a highly successful and international manufacturer of forklift trucks. This is a field-based role within a small geographical area offering excellent on-the-job training, extensive benefits, and progression opportunities. The company will fully train engineers from related fields to move into this industry.

The company are a manufacturer of forklift trucks. Part of a team in the area, you will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and breakdown coverage on a range of forklifts and related equipment in Burton Upon Trent. No overnight stays or extensive travel required. Overtime is available, mainly during the week.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM and breakdown maintenance on materials handling machinery on a field service basis
  • Provide reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area
  • Complete comprehensive training to become fully competent on all machinery and equipment
  • Spares placed in van overnight
Requirements
  • Experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment; automotive technicians/motor trade also suitable
  • Engine diagnostics and basic electrical skills
  • Ideally hold a level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject
