Join us as a Family Worker in Stoke-on-Trent

Are you a compassionate and motivated individual who wants to change people’s lives? Our team in Stoke‑on‑Trent is looking for a Family Worker to provide high‑quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are enthusiastic, creative and passionate about helping others, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

As a Family Worker you will:

  • Provide support and advice to families regarding substance misuse and its impact.
  • Offer family‑focused interventions to reduce the effects on children and young people.
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with clients and their families, maintaining continuity of care.
  • Manage your own caseload and work with other social‑care services to identify further support.
This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position until 31/03/2026. Working hours are Monday‑Friday 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional Saturday and evening work on a rota basis.
Salary and application details

Starting salary: £25,000 per annum, rising annually to £30,000 in line with our payscale. Applications close on 4th December 2025 (subject to early closure if enough applications are received).

Essential skills & qualifications
  • Some experience working in a health, social care, family or related setting.
  • Experience delivering services in a community setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of evidence‑based interventions.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Resilience under pressure and strong prioritisation skills.
  • Confidence in safeguarding children, young people and adults.
  • Flexible working hours and willingness to support other WithYou locations when required.
  • Driving licence and vehicle access (travel around the city required).
  • Previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances (lived experience welcomed).
