Overview

JOB TITLE: Family Support Worker

Pay rate: £12.85 per hour PAYE
Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 3 months
Working Arrangement: In the office and local area.

Responsibilities
  • Support social work teams as a Family Support Worker for a local council.
  • Transport children and supervise family time.
  • Maintain good organisational and communication skills, and record family time records and case notes in a clear, written format.
  • Be child-centred and able to manage conflict.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Recent experience of working and supporting vulnerable children and families in the home and community settings.
  • Own a car and have business insurance.
  • Good organisational skills and communication skills, including written skills to record family time records and case notes.
  • Be child-centred and able to manage conflict.
  • Experience delivering planned interventions using evidence-based practice leading to improved outcomes.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of partnership working to achieve desired results.
  • Experience responding effectively to safeguarding issues and concerns.
  • Experience of group facilitation and working with a range of professionals, external partner agencies and service providers.
Working Hours

The core hours are 8:30–17:00 with some flexibility required for occasional work outside these hours (e.g., transporting a child to school in the morning or taking home after school or family time).
