Job summary

A local council in England is seeking a Financial Wellbeing Coach to support families in improving their financial health and resilience. Financial Wellbeing Family Hub Coaches - Household Support Fund
Grade 7 | Staffordshire County Council

Are you passionate about helping families improve their financial wellbeing and resilience? We're looking for Financial Wellbeing Coaches to join our Family Hub service, supporting residents across Staffordshire to live healthier, happier, and more independent lives.

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with families and individuals to improve financial outcomes and reduce reliance on specialist services.
  • Provide one-to-one and group support in Family Hubs and community settings.
  • Signpost residents to appropriate services and coordinate targeted financial support where needed.
  • Build strong relationships with partner agencies, ensuring joined-up support.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, financial stability, and opportunities for long-term independence.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience) in working with individuals.
  • Experience delivering interventions and workshops in community or family support settings.
  • Strong knowledge of financial wellbeing, the benefits system, and the challenges faced by families such as poverty, debt, or financial exclusion.
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures (Adults and Children) and the ability to work within them.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to engage with diverse communities, and the confidence to challenge inequality or discrimination.
  • The ability to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
