Job summary

A leading staffing agency is seeking a Handyperson / Buildings and Facilities Assistant in Uxbridge. The role involves performing maintenance tasks, responding to repair requests, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Applicants should have relevant qualifications in general maintenance or a related trade, along with experience in a similar position. The contract is temporary with an hourly pay of £19.00. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to use electronic devices for record keeping.

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education.
  • Ability to carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and safe electrical isolation.
  • Formal trade training in General maintenance, Carpentry, or Plumbing.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in checking fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment.
  • Experience in Emergency Lighting Testing.
  • Demonstrable experience using IT and digital technology.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake investigation and repair of defect reports.
  • Carry out basic electrical tasks including replacing bulbs.
  • Support the Buildings and Facilities Supervisor in maintenance duties.
  • Fulfil legal requirements of Health and Safety inspections.
  • Maintain accurate work records using digital systems.
  • Ensure security within residences is maintained.
