JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 46 hours per week, 12-hour days Monday to Thursday

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Fabricator / Welder working within a well-established engineering workshop.

As a Fabricator / Welder you will fabricate, cut and weld structural steel components while working to detailed engineering drawings and quality standards.

The Fabricator / Welder will operate tools, machinery and lifting equipment safely, producing accurate work that supports construction, manufacturing and industrial projects.

Duties
  • Reading Technical Drawings: Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Fabrication of Structural Steel: Produce and assemble UB’s, UC’s, PFC’s, CHS’s and other steel sections
  • Cutting and Welding: Carry out cutting, grinding and welding tasks to required standards
  • Safe Use of Tools and Machinery: Operate fabrication equipment, hand tools and measuring devices
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets dimensional accuracy and quality expectations
  • Lifting Operations: Safely use overhead cranes and lifting equipment
  • Workshop Safety: Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area at all times
  • Team Collaboration: Work with supervisors and colleagues to meet production deadlines
  • PPE Compliance: Always wear correct PPE and follow all health and safety procedures
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Previous experience in steel fabrication
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Experience with welding and metalworking processes
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Knowledge of workshop health and safety practices
  • Good physical fitness and ability to handle materials
  • Reliability with a strong work ethic and good communication skills
Desirable
  • Trade qualification in fabrication or welding
