Recruit4staff is representing a leading structural steel fabrication & engineering company in their search for a Fabrication Inspector to work near Wigan.

Job Details
  • Pay: £38,480 per annum (£18.50 per hour)
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6.00 AM to 2.00 PM (40 hours per week)
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits: Birthday leave, Buy & Sell up to 5 days leave per year, Medicash Health Benefit, Referral Scheme, Full uniform & PPE provided, Workplace pension contribution of 8% (4% from employee, 3% from employer and 1% from the government), 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays
Job Role

The Fabrication Inspector will be responsible for maintaining high quality standards within the structural steel fabrication process. Key responsibilities include reviewing design documents, inspecting incoming materials, verifying dimensions, overseeing adjustments, and completing inspections in line with ITP protocols. The Fabrication Inspector will also be expected to mark up drawings, ensure compliance with contract tolerances, and occasionally carry out fabrication duties as required.

Essential Skills, Experience or Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a similar role in the structural steel/heavy fabrication sector
  • Solid experience reading and interpreting structural drawings
  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes and procedures
  • Experience in reviewing design documents and ensuring specification compliance
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in structural fabrication
Advantageous Skills, Experience or Qualifications
  • City & Guilds/NVQ in Plating/Fabrication or similar mechanical qualification
  • Quality-related qualifications
