Responsibilities
- Lead collaboration with fabric mills and trim suppliers to push the boundaries of innovative fabric constructions, finishes, and trims.
- Partner with the sourcing team to ensure fabric and trim sourcing aligns with the strategic garment sourcing vision.
- Spearhead the introduction of cutting-edge fabric technologies and finishes, giving designs a distinct competitive edge and setting industry trends.
- Drive fabric and trim development in line with the brand’s sustainability goals and overarching business strategy.
- Work with product development and garment tech teams to ensure timely fabric development, ordering, and production within the critical path.
- Oversee global manufacturing consistency, manage a curated fabric library, and ensure the use of approved core fabrics for bulk production.
- Maintain focus on business target margins and range architecture, ensuring fabric and trim developments are cost-effective and unlocking savings via supplier negotiations.
- Own supplier engagement on testing requirements, maintaining meticulous records of testing and compliance.
- Collaborate with the garment tech team to guarantee all fabric developments meet the brand’s rigorous technical standards and testing protocols.
- Lead problem-solving with suppliers when test results fall short, ensuring swift and effective solutions.
