Overview

EYFS Teaching Assistant — Immediate start until July 2026. 1:1 and small-group support in a good primary school in Yardley. £81 – £101 per day.

The Role

You’ll support high-quality early years provision alongside the class teacher. Expect to set up continuous provision, lead short, purposeful activities in early phonics and number, and provide 1:1 support for pupils who need extra help. You’ll model routines, encourage language and social skills, and keep brief observation notes to inform next steps.

The Candidate

You’re a graduate with clear communication, a warm, consistent approach, and genuine interest in early child development. You follow guidance, use initiative, and build positive relationships with young children and staff.

Requirements
  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Strong interest in EYFS and pupil wellbeing.
  • Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (nursery, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
