Job summary

A global packaging solutions company based in Leominster is seeking an Extrusion Operator for 12-hour shifts. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in operating polythene extrusion equipment. Responsibilities include ensuring product quality, managing line output, and maintaining safety standards. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Leominster is a polythene extrusion plant which manufactures agricultural films. The business is currently recruiting for Extrusion Operators working 12 hours shifts on a 2 days / 2 nights rota basis.

• Working safe in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work
• Reporting all hazards and act on them accordingly
• Housekeeping on all extrusion lines, recycling units and packing automation
• Monitor of product quality and ensure all quality checks and testing is carried out in line with specifications
• Monitor and manage line output rates, utilisation, scrap levels against plan/targets on each line
• Operate extrusion machinery and monitor and manage recycling equipment on each unit
• Ensure accurate data is recorded and inputted correctly
• Ensure a good handover of information to the incoming operator

Qualifications

• Experience in the operation of polythene extrusion equipment
• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (min 2 years experience) training will be given
• Good team working and communication
• Positive and pro-active attitude
• Be able to work unsupervised and using own initiative
• Ability to handle multiple priorities to ensure deadlines are met
