Job summary

A leading consultancy firm in the UK is seeking a Client Representative to assist with an offshore cable installation project. The role includes maintaining accurate daily records, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and conducting visual inspections of offshore works. Candidates should possess valid GWO certificates, a medical certificate, and IOSH Managing Safely training. This position involves proactive engagement with contractors to ensure operations meet required procedures.

Qualifications

  • Valid GWO certificates including Sea Survival and Fire Awareness.
  • Valid Medical certificate including Chester Step Test.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent HSE training is recommended.

Job description

UTM Consultants are looking for a Client Representative, to assist our client with their export cable installation project offshore, UK.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate daily records of all installation activities during the execution phase.
  • Ensure all relevant approved procedures and risk assessments are followed by the Contractor.
  • Monitor that the Contractor proactively manages safety and quality.
  • Act, behave, and lead by example in alignment with company values.
Tasks
  • Prepare and distribute Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) as required.
  • Ensure all DPRs are signed by all required parties.
  • Review and understand RAMS and QHSE documents prior to execution and stay updated on any changes.
  • Attend daily meetings, toolbox talks, and other discussions to ensure works are executed safely and to the required quality.
  • Be present as a witness during key installation activities, accessing all safe work areas as practicable.
  • Participate in safety walks with HSE representatives from both client and contractor organisations.
  • Perform incident and safety reporting as directed by the project team.
Deliverables
  • Daily recording of activities related to load-out, transit, positioning, and installation.
  • Completion and submission of Daily Progress Reports (DPRs).
Role Scope
  • Conduct visual inspections of offshore works in progress.
  • Monitor compliance with approved RAMS.
  • Hold authority to intervene or stop operations in case of safety or quality infringements, or if procedures are not being followed.
  • Have no contractual authority beyond the above responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Valid GWO certificates:

    • Working at Heights
    • Enhanced First Aid
    • Fire Awareness
    • Manual Handling
  • Valid Medical certificate including Chester Step Test
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent HSE training Recommended:
    • Marine awareness qualifications as required by the package role
    • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience within the specific package area
    • IT proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and project reporting systems
