About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and professional Executive Support Officer to provide high-level support to the Director of Housing. This is an exciting and varied role in a fast‑paced environment where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to make a real impact.

You will act as the first point of contact for the Director of Housing, liaising with residents, council members, the Housing Department Team (Assistant Directors), and partner organisations. Your role will be critical in building effective relationships on behalf of the Director and ensuring smooth operations within the Housing Directorate Management Team (DMT) office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact, managing communications with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the Housing DMT office, applying agreed systems, processes, and protocols.
  • Manage the Director’s inbox, triaging and assessing enquiries efficiently.
  • Draft responses on behalf of the Director, commission work from senior managers, and ensure timely completion.
  • Act independently where required to support the Director’s priorities.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience supporting senior executives, ideally in housing, public sector, or a fast‑paced professional environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and solution‑focused approach.
