Job description
Executive Partner, Business Services - Chief Audit Executive (CAE)

About this role:

Gartner is a leading research and advisory company that supports organizations globally with business and technology insights. This role is with Gartner Executive Partner for Chief Audit Executive (CAE). You will work with Chief Audit Executives across industries to help align audit priorities with critical objectives, deliver assurance, and deliver innovative solutions to critical audit and oversight challenges.

Partnering with our clients means that no two days are the same. You could support the development of the overall audit department strategy, evaluate productivity and capacity, create performance metrics and budgets, advise on the use of technology (including AI), and help CAEs engage with Audit Committees, Boards, CEOs, and management on governance and risk oversight. Gartner for CAE EPs serve as accountability partners through Gartner research insights and personal experience on client initiatives.

What You'll Do
  • Provide executive advisory services to CAE members who work across all industries and business models.
  • Synthesize Gartner insights and data to deliver world-class advisory support through ongoing bi-weekly client engagement and periodic client working sessions. The ability and willingness to operate independently to adapt materials fit for client use is required.
  • Host, facilitate, and/or participate in periodic client activities, including working sessions to develop strategy, peer roundtables, sessions and client meetings at the annual conference and virtual webinars. These activities may be delivered virtually or on-site depending on circumstance.
  • Define and deliver innovative solutions by assessing client needs and developing a customized value plan in accordance with overall Executive Program strategy and product deliverables.
  • Facilitate member interaction and peer collaboration through the Gartner for Audit member community portal and assisted member connections.
  • Work as a collaborative Gartner team member serving clients in conjunction with Client Support Professionals and Account Executives.
  • Participate in all phases of the client lifecycle: pre-sale, on-boarding, relationship management, delivery, review, and renewal.
  • While you will not be responsible for creating content, you will be partnering with Business and Technology Insights (BTI) Analysts to help identify potential gaps in material that is relevant and valuable to our clients.
  • There will be a considerable focus on sales enablement in this role. You are responsible for client retention and for contributing to account growth through direct support of Gartner Sales Associates:
  • Working with the sales teams to help them understand the true value of the Guided Product to the client vs the Self-Directed product.
  • Building their confidence and ability to effectively engage with and sell to this level of C-suite prospect.
  • Through the creation of Value Stories, enable the sales associates to bring the service to life.
  • You will be partnering with sales on account planning / development activities as well as being present in proof-of-concept (POC) engagements with prospective clients.
What You'll Need
  • The Executive Partner will ideally be an accomplished Chief Audit Executive, working with the C-suite, the Audit Committee and Board of Directors and a host of stakeholders, with a broad base of expertise who has operated at a senior leadership level and driven change at all levels.
  • At least 5+ years of experience working as a CAE (or the highest audit role within an organization) and at least 15+ years of experience in areas critical to leading an audit function.
  • An in-depth understanding of the Audit function and other adjacent functions, e.g., Compliance, Legal & Risk.
  • Ideally with a background across multiple industries to be able to support a wide variety of member organizations.
  • Audit or Consulting Firm experience, including client relationship management, is also highly beneficial.
  • Technologically savvy; our model is lean, and you\'ll leverage AI and other tools to work quickly, including completing administrative tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of tools to adapt PowerPoints, leverage Excel Spreadsheets, and to use Word to draft client-ready materials.
  • Consulting background a plus.
Who You Are
  • Critical thinker and problem solver, demonstrating the ability to assess our clients\' situations and provide actionable, outcome-based business/technical advice as well as the ability to leverage appropriate Gartner resources to help clients achieve results.
  • Ability to build strategic internal partnerships with key roles across the organization and positively impact change.
  • This role is a client-facing position that requires a high level of executive presence and ability to quickly build trust and deliver value.
  • Demonstrate superior verbal and written communication skills as well as strong facilitation and presentation skills. Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Willing to work independently and handle administrative tasks.
