Job description

The Events & Comms Executive role is responsible for helping to deliver an exciting programme of events and associated marketing activities. Our comprehensive programme of events includes multiple trade shows and exhibitions throughout the year; roundtables and receptions, large format internal events & conferences; and a premium hospitality programme for customers and clients, the majority of the programme is based in London, though occasional travel will be required.

Supporting bank-wide business goals across our Savings, Retail, & Commercial franchises, as well as broadening our brand ambitions, events and hospitality play a key role in our marketing strategy.

Our events and hospitality calendar gives our salespeople and front-line teams some fantastic opportunities to get in front of customers, brokers and partners to help generate new business and develop existing relationships. So, ensuring all aspects of our events run smoothly is critical – it’s your role to ensure the right people have the right information at the right time to make the most of these opportunities.

So, to help deliver brilliant experiences for our people, customers and intermediaries, how could you help bring our brand to life through events? How could you help demonstrate ROI and influence budgets? And how could you work with the rest of marketing to ensure our events and hospitality activity is joined up with other channels, e.g. social media?

You will often be working on several events at any given time so the need to be exceptionally organised with the ability to multitask, prioritise and to be flexible is key. Many of our events, by their nature, are also out of usual business hours.

Alongside our sponsorship activity with Saracens Rugby Club and London Mavericks netball, we run a premium hospitality programme for key brokers and introducers, designed to support these key relationships and deliver against a set of marketing KPIs. You will play an important part in shaping this offering to enhance our brand credibility and drive engagement.

  • A can-do and creative attitude alongside strong planning skills to ensure great experiences for our people and guests.
  • Support the various business lines with content creation that caters for social media and communications activity (engaging posts and event invitations targeted at specific stakeholders and clients)
  • Enable programme delivery through efficient day-to-day events administration including:
  • Collating invitation lists, creating event invitations that are in keeping with the brand and monitor RSVP’s, keeping senior stakeholders up to date on numbers and highlighting where rsvp’s aren’t meeting expectations.
  • Ensuring the events calendar is up to date and the Events & Sponsorship Monday.com board is reflective of current workload, including actions and deadlines as well as budget and post event reporting information.
  • Order merchandise, events equipment and prepare event materials, arranging couriers to deliver on-site.
  • Assist in the set up and breakdown of events, which will require some out-of-working hours, the majority being London based, some requiring travel.
  • Responsibility for completing compliance forms after each event.
  • Logging and processing invoices accurately so that budgets can be monitored and managed.
  • Responsible for Head of Events & Sponsorship expenses, ensuring completed on time, and maintain relevant receipts.
  • Manage all internal sign offs in accordance with approval and record keeping processes.
  • Support our sponsorship activity, helping deliver the initiatives we have planned internally and externally, for example ticket distribution, attendee management, family days etc.
  • Support our People team (e.g. Internal Comms) to help deliver our largest set-piece internal events – helping to embed the brand and bring our culture to life.
