Estimator - Housing / Residential Construction

📍 Location: Leeds

💰 Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (DOE)

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded housebuilding contractor based in Leeds, who are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator with a background in residential construction. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator looking to join a busy and growing company delivering high-quality housing developments across Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for housing projects
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and development plans
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
  • Prepare cost plans, bills of quantities, and risk assessments
  • Support land viability appraisals and early-stage development costing
  • Work closely with commercial and construction teams to ensure accurate project handovers
  • Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving solutions
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the residential housing sector (private or social housing)
  • Strong knowledge of traditional build methods, materials, and residential procurement routes
  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
  • Confident communicator and team player
