Job description

Overview

Estimators required for a Tier 1 contractor based in Reading, Berkshire. The company are one of the most successfully privately owned profitable contractors in the country and their Southern operations are based from their office near Reading and turnover in excess of £1 billion a year.

Responsibilities

• Identify and target clients and projects that suit the company's profile.
• Take ownership of the tender, carry out full analysis, and produce bill of quantities for each element of the works.
• Send out, manage and chase enquiries with supply chain.
• Identify both risks and opportunities, and work with the design and commercial teams to produce the best available bid.
• Deal directly with the client and other specialist representatives.
• Identify and target single stage regeneration and development schemes up to £150 million; typical schemes include large schools and multi-phased education schemes, student accommodation, PRS developments, high-rise office and residential schemes, distribution hubs and large multi-use retail and leisure developments.

Qualifications/Experience

• Ideally you will have worked for a Tier 1 or larger regional contractor on schemes above £10 million.
• Experience of both D&B projects and framework negotiations.
• Demonstrable excellence in work practices, attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to identify opportunities and potential issues.
