Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead their Internal Sales team within the EQS (Entrance Quality Systems) division. This role is central to supporting new equipment sales by managing the estimation process, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring accurate and timely proposals are submitted to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the internal sales and estimating team (2 direct reports).
  • Oversee allocation and handling of sales enquiries.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to qualify leads and produce competitive, value-engineered quotes.
  • Ensure accurate CRM/CPQ data entry and reporting of sales activities to the senior management team.
  • Review and approve quotations for major projects and sub-contract orders.
  • Support the transition of projects from sales into operations, ensuring timelines and margins are maintained.
  • Monitor team KPIs, delivery schedules, and margin erosion, and implement process improvements as needed.
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones and provide leadership to drive team performance.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales or estimating team.
  • Strong customer focus and commercial awareness.
  • Experience assessing construction tenders and understanding risk.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and performance metrics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with CRM systems preferred.
  • Able to interpret construction drawings and contracts.
  • Knowledge of EN16005 standards is beneficial (training can be provided).
