Equine Veterinary Surgeon – Oxfordshire
This well-established, independent equine practice is searching for a passionate Equine Vet with at least two years’ experience—someone ready for their next big step or simply curious about new opportunities.
They are offering an exciting chance to join a dynamic, supportive team of 11 equine vets and 6 vet nurses/assistants, based in the beautiful countryside of Oxfordshire.
All within a large, independent mixed practice with a proud 40-year heritage.
The successful candidate will work with state‑of‑the‑art equipment, whether out on the road or at the on‑site Equine Clinic. Facilities include digital radiography, gastroscopy, ultrasound, video endoscopy, and both surgical and therapeutic lasers.
The caseload is varied—sports horses, racing yards, studs, and pleasure horses—while ARVS‑qualified vets will also have the opportunity to undertake racing work.
Clinical autonomy is encouraged, enabling each vet to build their own caseload and client relationships. At the same time, the wider team provides strong mentorship and a culture that supports continuous learning, including certificates and tailored CPD.
Collaboration sits at the heart of the practice. A psychologically safe working environment is nurtured through regular M&M rounds and Vetsafe, fostering open discussion and shared learning.
Vets who are proactive, sociable, curious, and ambitious will thrive in this close‑knot, supportive team.
This is a practice deeply rooted in its community—regular charity involvement, social events, and client education evenings help keep relationships strong and meaningful.
Based in Oxfordshire, the location offers excellent schools, great amenities, cosy pubs, and easy access to major cities and airports.
