From putting the soles on your shoes, to the tarmac they walk on; from a packet of crisps to silicon chips; from wooden toothpicks to electric cars; you\'d be amazed at the things we get involved in. We don\'t do these things ourselves, of course, but we have worked with the people that do... to enable their efforts and dreams to be realised.
Sometimes our role is significant; sometimes it\'s small, but it\'s never trivial and it\'s always rewarding.
Working at our SMC UK Milton Keynes facility you will champion Environmental and Sustainability improvements, whilst also ensuring SMC UK and the European Technical Centre comply with Environmental Legislation and maintaining our ISO14001 Environmental Management System.
You will lead the established Environmental Committee, continue our Carbon Reduction journey, maintain our Carbon Neutral status, and work with European and Japan colleagues to support SDG, ESG, CSRD and future Net Zero ambitions. You will continue to drive recycling waste opportunities and reducing new packaging purchases.
This is a dynamic role assessing the latest Environmental Legislative changes, managing legal reporting requirements and responding to ever changing business needs or onsite incidents and concerns. You would be driving companywide activities such as Energy Usage Reduction or Electricity sub-metering, whilst engaging with senior leadership, R&D, Production and Sales employees, and essential suppliers/contractors, in an advisory role or promoting SMC sustainability goals, and as such be an effective communicator and approachable.
