Environmental Health Officer – Pollution / Environmental Protection

Location: Hampshire (hybrid working)

Rate: £40-45 per hour (umbrella)

Contract: 3–6 months initially, likely extension

We are working with a council in Hampshire seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer (Pollution / Environmental Protection) to join their team on an interim basis.

The role will focus on:
  • Assisting with the delivery of casework relating to Air Quality, Contaminated Land, Environmental Permitting, Noise Nuisance, and Filthy & Verminous properties.
  • Providing expert advice and support to colleagues, stakeholders, and members of the public.
  • Managing a varied caseload and ensuring compliance with statutory duties.

  • £40-£45 per hour (umbrella, inside IR35).
  • Hybrid working
  • Initial 3–6 month contract, with strong potential for extension.
About you:

Qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHO) or Environmental Protection Specialist with relevant experience.

Strong knowledge of legislation and practice in Environmental Protection.

Comfortable managing complex and sensitive casework.

Previous experience within a local authority setting is highly desirable.
