Environmental Health Officer Food/Health & Safety WCR 3. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health Officer specializing in Food and Health & Safety to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will ensure public health standards are maintained across multiple facilities and food establishments, conduct health inspections, assess compliance with legislation, and uphold food safety practices to protect the community. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to promoting health and safety standards. You will collaborate with food business operators and regulatory agencies to provide guidance, educate on best practices, and implement policies that foster a healthier environment. This role contributes to the quality of health services available to the population and is suited to someone passionate about public health and safety. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who will help ensure compliance with relevant laws and contribute to a safe and healthy environment for all citizens.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of food establishments and public health facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor food safety practices and implement corrective actions when necessary to mitigate risks.
  • Investigate reports of foodborne illnesses and public health complaints, identifying sources and recommending actions.
  • Provide education and training to food business operators on best practices in food hygiene and safety.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and enforcement agencies to promote public health standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of inspections, incidents, and investigations for record-keeping and follow-up.
  • Stay up-to-date with national and local health regulations, ensuring the organisation remains compliant with all applicable laws and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Certification as an Environmental Health Officer or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and health standards.
