Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Enterprise Architecture practice that guides and aligns a combination of processes, data, applications and technology to enable Rolls‑Royce to execute its vision, values, and strategy.

For us to be truly effective, we need to build and maintain a good model of our Digital & IT estate and how that satisfies our strategic objectives and allows us to efficiently deliver capability. We want to be able to ensure that we’re investing at the right times and that when we execute our delivery, we’re able to do so, knowing we’re building on good foundations.

What you will be doing:
  • Creating and updating the Enterprise Architecture model, incorporating Business Capabilities, Organisations, Data Flows, Applications and Services
  • Modelling of Digital & IT investments, dependencies and benefits to enable us to maintain our roadmaps across all our capabilities
  • Improving the quality of our data and consolidating overlapping data sources into the enterprise tooling
  • Reporting on metrics that will allow us to track the improvement of our Enterprise Architecture Model
  • Working with our delivery teams to ensure changes and impacts to projects are correctly modelled and maintained
  • Helping support the delivery teams to model better and improving the standards of modelling they undertake
  • Auditing our compliance and supporting continuous improvement of our Digital & IT governance to meet regulatory needs.
  • Liaison with other internal Rolls‑Royce teams and stakeholders, including Enterprise Architecture, Digital & IT Solution Teams, and IT Security, as well as outsourced service providers to enable the execution of the strategy
  • Proactive review and resolution of data quality issues
  • Create new reports, views and functionality to match new demands to understand our architecture
Position Qualifications:
  • You’ll be good at solving problems, with excellent attention to detail
  • You need to be able to translate concepts quickly to equate information that people give you into a representative model so that we can understand where multiple areas use different terms to mean the same thing
  • You will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to simplify technical terminology when talking to non-technical roles
  • You will be able or willing to learn how manage and administer technical applications such as Alfabet including building SQL queries to visualise and update data
Preferred Requirements:
  • Interest in building models of information and understanding how those would be used is essential, but you don’t need to have deep knowledge of IT Technology
  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex business scenarios
  • Working knowledge of TOGAF, or similar frameworks is a plus
