Qualifications

Job description

Job Objective:

Provide technical expertise in electrical and electromechanical process control. Support the Equipment Engineering group with controls design and implementation for manufacturing equipment and processes.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Support design, construction, installation, and validation (FAT/SAT) of equipment and processes as a contributing member of the Engineering team.
  • Perform duties with teamwork and high customer service standards.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and equipment, including textile converting and plastic processing machinery.
  • Plan layout and install wiring and devices for electrical control panels and system wiring per engineered drawings.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components such as relays, switches, transformers, motors, motor controllers, sensing devices, PLCs, and motion systems.
  • Generate schematics for equipment modifications or new installations.
  • Possess technical skills to troubleshoot electrical/electronic failures down to the board level.
  • Assist Maintenance with troubleshooting process control systems and devices as needed.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of experience as an Electrical or Electrical Controls Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with control panel/system assembly, troubleshooting, and programming.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, AC VFD, servo, and DC drive technology.
  • Understanding of standards and safety codes such as NEC, IEEE, UL related to industrial electrical controls and systems.
  • Ability to interpret and create electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
  • Self-motivated learning using books, web-based resources, and classroom training.

Desired: AS Degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
