Overview

Job Title: Engineering Technician

Location: Norwich

We're seeking a proactive and skilled Engineering Technician to join our innovative R&D team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside engineers and technicians across a range of disciplines, contributing to the development of prototype systems and driving forward system capability improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and implement design concepts and approaches.
  • Build and maintain electrical, mechanical, and electronic apparatus.
  • Contribute to the design and development of prototype systems and test equipment.
  • Develop a strong understanding of equipment and processes to support fault-finding and snagging activities.
  • Communicate effectively within the team, with a particular focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of delegated tasks, providing regular progress reports and raising issues where necessary.
  • Work to defined timescales to support trials and test activities.
  • Maintain a tidy and well-organised laboratory work space, ensuring tools and equipment are in good condition.
  • Support the creation of requirements, validation specifications, and engineering reports as part of project activities.
  • Undertake other duties reasonably aligned with the nature of the role.
About You
Qualifications / Education / Training
  • HNC/Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on training in engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance.
  • Desirable: Electrical Installation Qualification (18th Edition), Forklift Truck Qualification.
