Job Role: Mechanical Engineer
Location: HMP Swaleside
Salary: £38,333.37 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (39 hours per week)

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Swaleside, a CATEGORY B male prison.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and ensuring safety and security.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS, seeking a Mechanical Engineer with:

  • At least two years' experience as a plumber or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
  • Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Plumber qualification to C&G 6035, C&G 6189, NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, or equivalent
  • Strong health & safety knowledge
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
