Location: HMP Springhill
Salary: £41,818.21 + 5% salary increase for shift and weekend work
Contract: Full Time - Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Springhill, a category D male prison. Join a supportive team working Monday to Sunday to create a safe and nurturing environment.

HMP Springhill functions like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it operational. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

Team Environment

Work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to providing a safe environment.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with:

  1. At least two years' experience as a plumber or equivalent
  2. Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
  3. Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems
  4. Understanding of health and safety regulations
  5. Qualified to C&G 6035, C&G 6189, NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, or equivalent
  6. Strong health and safety knowledge
  7. Excellent organizational and people skills
