A leading recruitment agency is seeking an Energetic Materials Technician for a 12-month contract in the UK. You will support various projects, ensuring product quality and safety compliance while working within a dynamic engineering environment. Applicants should have a relevant science qualification and practical skills in a lab or engineering setting. This position offers a competitive pay rate of £26.84 per hour under umbrella (Inside IR35).

Qualifications

Overview

Energetic Materials - Technician • 12 months • £26.84ph umbrella (Inside IR35)

Responsibilities
  • Support a broad range of activities within the BAE Systems Land UK business, including new technology development projects for future energetic materials and product and process development in small, medium and high volume environments.
  • Work as part of the Engineering and Technology teams to ensure products meet exacting quality and performance requirements.
  • Assist the Engineering and Technology Teams at BAE Systems Land UK in the small scale manufacture and testing of energetic materials.
  • Provide energetic material advice and support by assisting Energetic Material/Process subject matter experts.
  • Take reasonable care of own health and safety and maintain high standards for safety, health and environment (SHE); cooperate with training and reporting, use equipment as intended and follow all instructions.
  • Promote risk awareness, ensure risks are assessed and controlled, encourage reporting of incidents and defects, and support improvements to SHE standards.
  • Conform to Company Health & Safety Policy (759/OF/016) and Environmental Policy (759/OF/029).
Knowledge & Qualifications
  • A recognised science qualification to minimum A-Level/HND/HNC, preferably with knowledge of chemistry.
Skills
  • Ability to work within a close team and to stringent safety processes.
  • Good practical skills in a laboratory or engineering environment.
