Overview

Service Care Legal are recruiting for an Employment Lawyer to join a local authority in the North London region. As an Employment Education Lawyer, you will provide high-quality legal advice and representation throughout the council on employment matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal advice and representation on employment matters including YUPE, unfair dismissals and tribunals.
• Advise on changes in legislation and case law that may impact the organisation.
• Represent the council in courts, tribunals, and inquiries.
• Advise on occasional education law matters.

Role Details

• Role: Employment Lawyer
• Location: North London
• Contract: 3 months with possibility of extension, 35 hours per week
• Rate: £50ph LTD (£44.51ph PAYE inc. holiday pay, £39.72ph PAYE exc. holiday pay)
• Note: Office attendance required once per week

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE
• Relevant experience in employment and education law, preferably in local government
• Significant specialist knowledge in employment and education law
• Experience of conducting complex cases with minimal supervision
