Employment Law – Senior Associate Solicitor
Location: Cambridge

Are you an experienced employment solicitor ready to step into a senior role with a leading, ambitious law firm?

Our client is seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor (5+ years’ PQE) to join their Cambridge team, advising a diverse client base across financial services, tech, education, insurance, transport, and non-profits—including international businesses and senior executives. This is your opportunity to work on complex, high-value employment matters and take a visible leadership role in a firm committed to your growth.

The Role: Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on wide-ranging employment law matters including:
    • General employment issues (maternity rights, contractual matters)
    • Drafting service agreements, employment contracts, staff handbooks, and policies
    • Handling performance, sickness, and misconduct procedures; parental leave schemes
    • Transactional corporate support
    • Wrongful and unfair dismissal, redundancy, restructuring, TUPE
    • Senior executive arrivals/exits and complex remuneration
    • Employment tribunal litigation and discrimination claims
    • Advising on offshore/overseas placements
  • Work with clients across sectors: financial services, insurance, tech, education, transport, non-profits, and international businesses
  • Engage in business development and leadership: mentor junior team members, support firm growth, and contribute to practice development
Requirements & Experience
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5+ years’ PQE in employment law
  • Proven expertise handling complex employment cases and advising senior executives
  • Strong technical skills in contract drafting, policy development, and litigation
  • Commercial and strategic thinking with the ability to deliver practical, business-focused advice
  • Leadership and mentoring experience valued
  • Excellent communication, client management, and business development skills
  • Experience with international clients or cross-border matters is advantageous
