Job summary

A leading global pharmaceutical organization is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Consultant for a 6-month hybrid role in Uxbridge. You will support complex ER matters and contribute to strategic projects across the UK and Asia-Pacific. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Employee Relations, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of UK employment law. This position offers a daily rate of £400 to £450.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Employee Relations within a complex bi-national environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law; exposure to Asia-Pacific is advantageous.
  • Languages: English essential; Mandarin and/or Cantonese highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert on complex ER issues.
  • Provide pragmatic, compliant ER advice to business leaders and HR colleagues.
  • Conduct and document investigations, prepare detailed reports.

Employee Relations Consultant
  • Employee Relations Consultant (Asia-Pac)
  • Hybrid Working (x3 days in Uxbridge x2 days WFH)
  • 6-month contract
  • 400 to 450 per day (via Umbrella)
The Opportunity

A superb opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Employee Relations Consultant to join a leading global pharmaceutical organisation.

Reporting to the Director of International Employee Relations (UK) you’ll support a broad range of complex ER matters and contribute to strategic business change projects across both the UK and Asia-Pacific region.

This hybrid role is based in Stockley Park (Uxbridge) and you will be working closely with colleagues across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore where early morning starts will occasionally be required to support regional collaboration.

Skills Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Employee Relations within a complex matrixed multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law; Asia-Pacific exposure highly advantageous.
  • Languages: English essential; Mandarin and / or Cantonese highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree-qualified (Employment Law or related discipline preferred).
  • Confident managing sensitive ER issues with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in various IT applications (like Workday, ServiceNow and Office365) and case management systems would be useful.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject matter expert on complex ER issues including performance management, investigations, disciplinary matters, terminations, redundancies and restructurings.
  • Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to provide pragmatic, compliant and balanced ER advice.
  • Conduct and document investigations, prepare detailed reports and make recommendations on resolution.
  • Support and advise on business change including reorganisations, acquisitions and integrations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Legal team and other corporate functions on employment-related risk management.
  • Deliver training and workshops on HR policies, ER best practice and change management.
  • Monitor and analyse ER trends to inform proactive interventions.
  • Support cross-border ER projects and initiatives across the UK and Asia region.
