Job description

As an Advisor specialising in Employee Relations at L'Oréal, your day is a focused journey through the complexities of workplace dynamics. You'll frequently consult with legal counsel on high-risk cases, ensuring all actions are compliant and protective of L'Oréal's interests. There will be movement between urgent ad-hoc queries, meticulous case management, and proactive risk assessment. Every interaction demands discretion, a deep understanding of employment law, and a commitment to fairness, as you work to uphold L'Oréal's standards and foster a respectful, productive, and compliant workplace culture.

You are an accomplished HR professional with a strong track record and deep expertise specifically in employee relations. You possess a number of years of progressive HR experience within a relevant, fast-paced industry sector (FMCG/food etc.), a significant portion of which has been dedicated to managing complex ER caseloads. You are highly proficient in handling a wide array of workplace issues in a corporate, head office environment, and with working with senior stakeholders as a trusted business partner.

Key Attributes
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR policies, confidently guiding managers and employees through intricate and sensitive ER situations, from grievances to complex investigations.
  • Skilled in mediating conflicts, conducting thorough investigations, and recommending appropriate actions to resolve disputes fairly and effectively.
  • Proactively identifying potential ER risks and providing strategic advice to prevent issues from escalating, ensuring compliance and protecting the organization.
  • Building strong, credible relationships based on integrity, impartiality, and the ability to provide practical, legally sound advice in challenging circumstances.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, allowing you to handle sensitive conversations with discretion, empathy, and clarity.
  • Maintaining meticulous records, analysing ER data to identify trends, and approaching problem-solving with a thorough and systematic mindset.
  • Thriving in a demanding environment, managing a dynamic caseload with calm professionalism, and adapting to evolving situations and legal landscapes.
