Our focus is on sharing knowledge, delivering learning experiences, offering peer-networking opportunities, and providing advice to family principals, family members, and family office executives.

The EMEA Head of Family Office Advisory will be a senior leader in the GFO team, driving strategic initiatives to enhance client engagement and monetization, deliver bespoke advisory services, and foster impactful collaborations across the EMEA region. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional adept at navigating the complex needs of ultra-high-net-worth families and their family offices. Working in close partnership with bankers, regional leadership, the GFO team, the Integrated Client Engagement (ICE) team, and other key functions, this role will be instrumental in expanding client and prospect relationships, driving significant financial contribution, and cementing Citi's position as an undisputed leader in the family office industry. This executive will also play an active role in developing new approaches and solutions to serve the evolving needs of family offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deepen relationships with clients, drive new client acquisitions, reinforce client retention, increase wallet share, drive revenue and asset growth.
  • Engage and meet with clients and prospects in the EMEA region (and other regions as needed) to help them better understand their needs and find solutions within the broad Citi franchise and beyond.
  • Partner with the GFO team, the ICE team, bankers, regional leadership, and other key functions to execute a regional strategy aligned with business goals.
Advice
  • Cultivate and deepen relationships with key clients and prospects across EMEA (and other regions as needed), expanding Citi's footprint and influence.
  • Engage with family office clients and prospects, assess their complex needs, challenges, aspirations and goals.
  • Provide guidance and advice on a broad spectrum of core issues and best practices, including:
    • Creation, operation and benchmarking of family offices
    • Development and professionalization of family offices, including assessing “build vs. buy” options
    • Portfolio construction, optimization and risk mitigation strategies
    • Sophisticated investment governance models
    • Family governance, unity and continuity
    • Next generation preparation and leadership succession planning
    • Wealth transfer strategies, global mobility and cross border issues
    • Technology adoption, cybersecurity and privacy
Knowledge & Thought Leadership
  • Develop cutting-edge content addressing family office needs, including whitepapers, in-depth reports, and case studies, focusing on evergreen issues as well as new trends in family office and family governance best practices.
  • Develop and deliver thought leadership through compelling educational initiatives, including sharing subject matter expertise, moderating webcasts and roundtables, and designing internal training sessions.
Learning Events & Networking
  • Design, lead, and participate in exclusive client learning events -- including webcasts, roundtables (in-person and virtual), global Family Office Leadership Summits, regional Family Office Executive Forums -- by ensuring bespoke content and effective engagement strategies.
  • Curate, develop and deliver local client events in markets across EMEA, ensuring alignment with regional business objectives.
  • Explore opportunities for joint programs with accredited educational institutions and other strategic partners.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Partnership
  • Act as a senior liaison, collaborating strategically with GFO teams, the Integrated Client Engagement team, bankers, Investment Counselors, and regional leadership to integrate Family Office Advisory as a core differentiator in client acquisition and retention.
  • Embrace a collaborative "One Citi" approach, working closely with product and service partners, including to co-create initiatives that engage clients and increase financial contribution.
  • Mentor and educate bankers and Investment Counselors with targeted educational programs, enhancing their understanding of complex family office needs.
Qualifications
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in the family office sector, wealth management, or management consulting, working with family office executives, principals, and family members in an advisory capacity.
  • Track record of driving incremental revenue and new client acquisition with family offices.
  • Proven leadership with strategic initiatives and complex client engagements.
  • Broad and deep expertise in family office best practices, family governance, understanding of wealth management, wealth planning, and investment strategies.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, result-oriented approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects across diverse regions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, influential presentation skills, with a track record of effectively engaging senior clients, global stakeholders, and internal leadership teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships across a matrixed organization.
  • Outstanding understanding of evolving family office needs in the region.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the EMEA market landscape and connectivity within the family office ecosystem of advisors, service providers and centers of excellence.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology solutions, including AI, and their application in family offices.
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic, global environment.
