Job summary

A technology company in the UK seeks an Electronics Test Technician to inspect and configure industrial control equipment. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and experience in electronics testing. Responsibilities include final testing and maintenance of quality control records. This role is vital for ensuring the efficiency of production processes, and the company values diversity in the workforce.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in an electronics testing environment is essential.
  • IPC 610 certification is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test assembled PCBA’s and completed assemblies.
  • Configure assembled products including hardware and software setup.
  • Maintain quality control records following ISO 9001 procedures.

Skills

Inspection and testing of assembled PCBA’S
Knowledge of electrical/electronic principles
Experience in electronics test environment
Ability to read schematics
Good level of computer knowledge

Education

ONC/OND/HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Overview

Ovarro is a company with real purpose. To enable this we need team members who fully live our OneTeam value which is at the heart of everything we do at Ovarro. Our new Electronics Test Technician will provide testing configuration, and repair of our industrial process control/monitoring equipment as part of our production team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspection and testing of assembled PCBA’S and completed assemblies including complex enclosures and systems.
  • Final configuration of assembles including installing software, hardware configuration and final testing/verification.
  • Following procedures and maintaining records adhering to Quality Control and Administration procedures, such as ISO 9001
  • Be adaptable and flexible to meet the varying needs and objectives of the department.
  • Repair and rework to component level aided by circuit diagrams using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.
Required Skills And Experience
  • ONC/OND/HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent/similar discipline.
  • IPC 610 is advantageous but not essential
  • Good level of computer knowledge including for example ftp, telnet and office packages.
  • Experience of working in an electronics test environment
  • Be able to read schematics and technical drawings.
  • Flexible and willing to carry out a wide variety of tasks as and when required to help other teams within the production department.
