Electronic Security Systems Commissioning Manager

Reading, UK

Up to £650 per day OUTSIDE IR35

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Security Systems Commissioning Manager to join one of the UK's most complex and high-profile defence infrastructure projects. This is a rare opportunity to work on a technically challenging programme where your skills will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and successful commissioning of critical security systems and control infrastructure.

You'll be responsible for overseeing the commissioning strategy, managing supplier test activities, and ensuring systems are integrated and handed over seamlessly. This is a leadership role that demands both technical expertise and the ability to manage stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver commissioning activities, including planning, co-ordination, and oversight of supplier test programmes.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance in all commissioning activities while integrating test requirements into the wider project schedule.
  • Manage documentation, stakeholder reviews, and reporting on commissioning progress, changes, and forecasts.
  • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement across commissioning processes.
Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience commissioning large-scale facilities, with strong expertise in electronic security systems (access control, IDS, CCTV, PIDS).
  • Solid understanding of commissioning methodologies, system integration, and design review processes.
  • Track record of delivering complex projects within defence or other highly regulated technical sectors.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) and eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC/DV).
