Job description

Our client, an established Bindery firm based near Padstow are seeking a permanent electrician / electrical engineer to join their team.

What we offer:
  • £35,000-£45,000 per annum
  • Monday - Friday
  • 40H per week
  • Shift pattern will be arranged.
  • Permanent position
The role:
  • Carry out planned repair and maintenance of printing and bookbinding machinery, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.
  • Conduct daily repair, maintenance, and inspection of ancillary site and building equipment.
  • Support installation and project work on equipment within the printing and bookbinding trade, as well as other site equipment.
  • Work independently and proactively to maintain high standards of maintenance and health & safety.
  • Assist in supervising and training apprentices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance operations.
  • Undertake any reasonable duties associated with the role.
  • Perform regular testing (PAT, fixed wiring inspections, RCD testing) to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Recommend and implement improvements or modifications to electrical systems and machinery.
Qualifications and relevant experience:
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of production machinery.
  • City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • A proactive, flexible, and problem-solving approach.
  • Experience with industry standard systems and processes (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 27001).
