Overview

Electrician
Location: HMP Downview
Salary: £43,177.30 + an additional £3,000 in allowances per year
Contract: Full Time - Perm (39hrs per week)

We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Downview, a category C, female prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical, time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for an Electrician with a combination of:

Responsibilities
  • Support the maintenance and operation of electrical systems within a high-security environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary facilities team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Work safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and site procedures.
Qualifications
  • Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
  • Two years' experience working in a role as a fully qualified electrician
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
