We’re recruiting for a driven and dedicated Electrician to join our FM team at HMP Ashfield, an adult male sex offender prison based in the village of Pucklechurch in South Gloucestershire.
As the FM Electrician, you will carry out fault finding and defect rectification on electrical plant and equipment, perform pre-planned maintenance, and install new electrical plant and apparatus.
You will need to document inspection findings and pursue fault rectifications. You will work as part of a close-knit team but will also be expected to work independently at times. This role is ideal for someone starting their Electrician career or looking to reduce travel by being based on-site full time.
It is important to note that working in a secure environment can be challenging. In return, we offer a supportive and collaborative environment that respects work/life balance and contributes to vital public services in the UK. The role includes participation in an on-call roster (currently approximately 1 in 8) and may require out-of-hours and weekend work to meet business needs.

You must have a C & G Electrical Certificate or other recognized electrical trade qualification, have served a recognized trade apprenticeship, and be qualified to BS 1 (current edition of the IEE Regulations).
Additionally, you should have at least 5 years of relevant trade experience post-apprenticeship and be willing to undertake further training to enhance your technical skills if required.
