Overview
We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Wastewater Operations Team in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrical maintenance professional to join a close-knit team with diverse experience, all performing at a high level. The role offers learning potential with the ability to cross-skill into other disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Proactively and reactively maintain the electrical assets onsite.
- Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid interruptions to the process, including diagnosing complex faults and repairs during incidents.
- Carry out service and replacement of assets, including pump motors, electrical circuitry components, contactors, overloads, slip ring assemblies, telemetry outstations, variable speed drives and motor control circuits.
- Support local maintenance teams, carrying out planned and breakdown maintenance on electromechanical wastewater assets.
- Provide technical advice to the wider team, reference up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Undertake fault diagnostics and promptly resolve issues.
- Interpret and update electrical drawings.
Location and Hours
Base location would be either Witney (OX28 5JH) or Cirencester (GL7 6DA).
38 hours a week, Monday to Friday, plus inclusion on a standby rota.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in electrical engineering.
- Qualifications in BS7671 or the 18th edition electrical wiring regulations.
- Experience in maintaining, testing, installing and fault diagnosis on electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience with 3-phased systems.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety policies and processes.
- Physical fitness is required, with the possibility of working in confined spaces and completion of appropriate training.
- Participation in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby rota after a suitable period of training, with additional payment.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Role-specific training will be undertaken to fulfil safety and team competency requirements.
