Job description

About the role:

We have a great opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our Northeast Water Productions Area team as an Electrical Technician at Coppermill and Chingford Water Treatments Works.

As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our Water treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair electrical and some mechanical equipment.

You will also be working in a multi-discipline team and will be responsible for carrying out scheduled, unscheduled and emergency maintenance work on electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimize plant breakdowns.

What you’ll be doing as the Electrical Technician

  1. Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs in a timely and efficient manner to avoid interruptions to the process.
  2. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
  3. Provide technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and support for technical trainees if required.
  4. Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, centrifuges, pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, controls, electronic control systems like VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, chemical handling and dosing equipment.

Location: Coppermills and Chingford WTW - East London - E17 7HE

Working Pattern: 38 hours, Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby & overtime, increasing earnings by up to £8,000-£10,000.

All PPE, tools, van, and fuel card are provided.

Requirements:

  • NVQ or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (essential).
  • 18th Edition qualification (desirable, training available).
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies.
  • Experience in electrical systems, preferably in industrial or water industry environments.
  • Valid driving license for travel within the Northeast Water Productions Area.
